Women on the Road NEWS #xx

If you've been a fan of Women on the Road News and have been following me for a while, then you'll know I'm upgrading my newsletter - it's going to be better, sleeker, and will even include a photo or two to break up all that text.

I've mentioned it a few times and now... it's time! The NEW News is coming soon - so soon you'll have it in your mailbox next week. And it's going to look quite different.

Why did I change things? Because I couldn't handle it on my own anymore.

With more than 9000 subscribers, I either had to decrease the frequency (I didn't want to do that) or hire help (I can't afford that). I did have two wonderful interns for many months but they couldn't stay forever...

The new format will simplify production for me. The new design and sections mean I can handle it alone and get it to you more quickly. And the new mailing list system will smooth things out on the technical side; no more coding, no more hours spent figuring out where my HTML went wrong!

I do hope you like the result, and I'd love your comments - what you like, but also what you don't like.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Double the frequency. Rather than monthly, Women on the Road NEWS will be issued twice as often - every two weeks instead of every four. So if something is topical, you won't have to wait a month to read about it.

  • Brilliant new design. All right... in truth I redesigned it myself and it's not that different - just enough to make it easier for me to publish and easier for you to read.

  • Looks great on your mobile. If you read your newsletters on a cellphone or a tablet, you'll actually be able to see it properly.

  • Special extra content. From book reviews to gear reviews and everything in-between, just like you asked for in the survey.

Just one thing: if my newsletter no longer suits your needs, if you're in-between trips or staying put for a while, please don't worry about hurting my feelings - go ahead and unsubscribe (you can do that below). You'll always be welcome to subscribe again: just check the right-hand column of the website or blog and you'll find signup coupons everywhere!

(But I hope you stay.)
